About Lullaby for the Wind

An old street performer who has lost his ailing wife travels from village to village with his daughter, making his way along the roads with a horse and cart. Along the journey, his possessions gradually dwindle, his horse runs away, and he eventually loses the ability to perform. When his daughter gets married, he abandons his cart and continues down the road entirely alone. As he walks, he reflects that it feels as though he has been wandering this road for a hundred years.
